Crowns

A crown is a custom cap that covers a tooth to restore its shape, strength and look. It's often the best choice when a tooth is:

  • Cracked or broken
  • Weakened by a large filling or decay
  • Treated with a root canal
  • Discolored or misshapen

Crowns are also used to finish a dental implant.

Bridges

A bridge replaces one or more missing teeth by anchoring a false tooth to the teeth, or implants, on either side. It fills the gap, helps you chew evenly and keeps your other teeth from shifting.

What to expect

  1. Exam and plan. Dr. Pecson checks the tooth and explains your options.
  2. Preparing the tooth. The tooth is shaped and an impression or scan is taken. You leave with a temporary crown.
  3. Placing your crown or bridge. At a second visit, your custom restoration is fitted and bonded in place.
